Terms & Conditions

    The Querétaro Language School believes in total honesty and transparency in all that it does. Thus, all of the prices you see listed are all inclusive, with no hidden fees. Also, to guarantee the best service we also have our Terms & Conditions listed here for everybody to review. During your orientation you will be asked to sign a form saying you agree to all the Terms & Conditions as stated below.

Responsibilities of QLS

  • The Querétaro Language School is responsible for providing each of our students with a highly qualified native Spanish speaking teacher.
  • The Querétaro Language School must provide the student and teacher a comfortable environment in which to hold their classes.
  • The Querétaro Language School and its staff are responsible for provided the student any and all assistance necessary, within the terms of the contract, to make sure that their stay at the Querétaro Language School is as enjoyable as possible.
  • The Querétaro Language School must provide the student with a variety of activities, workshops, and tours so that they have an opportunity to experience and live the Mexican Culture.
  • If the student has elected to stay in a Mexican Homestay, the Querétaro Language School is responsible for doing everything possible to make sure that the housing facilities and family provide a relaxing and educational environment in which the student can rest and study their Spanish.
  • The Querétaro Language School teachers and staff will give the students timely and constructive feedback to help improve their Spanish.
  • The Querétaro Language School is responsible for making sure our students have a great time in Mexico!

Responsibilities of Student

  • It is a Students responsibility to pay for all fees for their Spanish Packages and Homestays (if applicable) before the start of their first class.
  • It is a Students responsibility to arrive on time to all classes.
  • It is a Students responsibility to do the homework assigned by the teacher, so that their Spanish can improve at a constant rate.
  • It is a Students responsibility to inform the Querétaro Language School of any foreseen absences or cancellations per to Policies listed below.
  • It is a Students responsibility to provide own medical insurance, see the Medical Insurance section below for more details

Rescheduling Policy

  • If a students wishes to reschedule a package 10 or more business days before their scheduled start date, the package will be rescheduled with no additional fees.
  • If a student makes wishes reschedule a package 1-9 business days before their scheduled start date, a reprogramming fee of $50.00 will be charged.
  • If a student wishes to reschedule part of their package after starting their classes, they must get the General Directors approval. A $50.00 rescheduling fee will be applied.
  • If a student wishes to reschedule a private class, they must request it in writing more than 24 hours before the class in question, otherwise the student will be charged for the class. Group classes cannot be rescheduled, without the consent of everybody in the group.
  • If a student has signed up for a group package, but there is no suitable group available, the student will be taught as a private student for 2/3 of the hours originally allotted hours. The student in question will not be charged extra for the change.

Missed Class Policy

  • If a class is missed without notifying QLS in writing more than 24 hours before the class in question, the student will be charged the full cost of the class.
  • If the student gives written notice that they will miss a class more than 24 hours ahead of time, the Rescheduling Policy detailed above applies.
  • If the student wishes to take part in an activity, workshop or tour offered by the Querétaro Language School instead of a class scheduled. They can credit the cost of the class towards said activity, workshop or tour. If the cost of the class is greater than the activity, workshop or tour, the remainder of the cost is forfeit.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • If a students wishes to cancel a package 10 or more business days before their scheduled start date, a $75.00 cancellation fee will be charged, and the remaining amount will be refunded to the student.
  • If a student makes wishes to cancel a package 1-9 business days before their scheduled start date, the student will charge a programming cost equal to 20% of their fees. The remainder amount will be refunded to the student.
  • For students who do not show up on the scheduled start date, they will be charged full price for all scheduled days until we receive a written cancelation request. Once the request is received the Querétaro Language School will retain 20% of the remainder of the payments as a programming cost, and return the rest to the student.
  • If a student wishes to withdraw from the Querétaro Language School, they must give a written notice 5 days before their chosen withdrawal date. The student will be charged for the classes they have taken. A 20% programming fee will be charged for the remainder of the contract, and the rest will be refunded to the student.
  • The Querétaro Language School reserves the right to deny services to any student at anytime. In these cases, the student will be charged the full cost for the classes they have taken, as well as charges for the remainder of the week. Additionally, the student will be charged the 20% programming fee for the remainder of the balance due.

Medical Insurance

  • Each student attending the Querétaro Language School is responsible for providing their own Medical Insurance.
  • During the orientation session each student will be required to sign a waiver form (MS Word Format) absolving the Querétaro Language School of any responsibility in the case of injuries or sickness sustained during your tenure at QLS.

Volunteer Policy

  • The Querétaro Language School may act as the moderator between the student and a Charitable, or Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), but the work agreement will be made directly between the student and the organization in question.
  • The Querétaro Language School is not responsible for the students’ activities at said Charity or NGO.
  • The Querétaro Language School will donate 5% of the students' tuition costs to the charity or NGO in question if the student spends 10 or more hours as a volunteer. Payments will be sent on the first workday of every month.
